According to this article the Science Channel has acquired the rights to Firefly and will be screening it in its entirety. Plus there’s an interview with Nathan Fillion about Firefly, where he says that if he won the lottery, he’d buy the rights to Firefly, make more episodes and distribute them on the internet!

Now we can all dream what would happen if Nathan Fillion and Joss Whedon won enough money to pick up the Firefly series …
For goodness sake lets start buying them tickets. (And with the aussie dollar doing so well against the US a gold lotto win should do the trick

If all the firefly fans just sent Joss Whedon the price of a lotto ticket and told him to keep the money with the proviso that he made more Firefly, he could probably do it.

Did you see Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog? Joss Whedon made it during the writers strike to show that you didn’t need big budgets, only a good script and actors to make a good show.
It’s iconoclastic, it pokes fun at the whole superhero/super-villain culture.
Doctor Horrible was hilarious! Well, except for the end bit, which wasn’t so funny. Neil Patrick Harris is adorable, Felicia Day is perfect, and Nathan Fillion is again, wearing some deliciously tight pants.
No don’t get me excited like this again. I can’t bear it 🙂
I like to use certain scene from Firefly to each dialogue and world building to my students. Brilliant show.

Doctor Horrible was all about the conflict between the villain’s Want (to be be the best villain) and his Need (to be loved by Felicia Day’s character). And it was contrasting his humanity as a villain against Hammer’s inhumanity as a super hero.

I would definately be in my happy place if Firefly was to go again. I have a bi-annual Firefly fest – although I am long over due this year. LOVED Dr Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. Bad Horse. LOL.
Occasionally I have a few chuckles with the “in” jokes in Castle. On one halloween one – he dressed up a Mal from Firefly – his daughter asked him what he was dressed – he said a Space Cowboy. Laughed myself silly. I think she even said something about there being no cows in space. And there have been a few other such things. Little things that a true Firefly fan gets immediately.

Castle is fun but it’s not Firefly. I don’t know how the TV executives could have got it so wrong.
